Free Krispy Kreme!

On Tuesday, Election Day, we got up at 4:30 a.m. so we could get ready and try to be at the polls by 6:00. We took the kids with us and they both were great. We were in line at 6:10 a.m. and were out of there by 7:45. The time flew by because everyone around us was happy to be there and very friendly and talkative...so, yeah, Evan talked everyone's head off. Fortunately, we mostly talked about random things, especially candy. Evan wanted to tell them about all the candy he got for Halloween and then everyone was sharing what their favorite candies were. Much better than standing there debating politics! So, I'd seen on tv the day before that Krispy Kreme was going to be giving out free star-shaped donuts with red, white, and blue sprinkles and decided since everyone was so well behaved, we'd go enjoy a free donut. It was fun. Evan loves to watch the show "How It's Made"....I think it's on the Discovery Channel or something like that...and so he really liked watching the donuts being made through the observation windows they have there. Chana even had fun, although I didn't give her a taste of donut, she had a bottle while we were there and was happy as could be! They also have the paper Krispy Kreme hats set up on all the tables for everyone to take, so we had a little fun with those, as you can see. The manager liked us (especially Chana!) so much he said he's going to put our picture in their district newsletter. I thought that was sweet! Anyway, just wanted to share!
